VobSub should do what you want. Just put the sub files in the same dir as the movie and make sure they sub files have the same name as the movie and open them in any player that supports directshow.

Bsplayer is a nice vid player and it likes subs. For *.sub files, all you have to do is make sure the sub files have the same filename as the movie itself.
example for the stupid:
city_of_god_cd1.avi
city_of_god_cd1.sub
then just open the avi in bsplayer, and hurray, you got the subs. Then you can modify the font, color, blabla babalabalabla...
I'm just talking about bsplayer cause i like it and use it, but i'm quite sure there are many other media players that support subs.
www.bsplayer.org (not sure about the url, too lazy to check) |

For once I agree with the ass pirate.... why use a specific player when you can use a filter that works with every player? |

For some people it might be better to use vobsub, but in my case i just wanted to watch the movie once then delete it, so it was easier for me to use Bsplayer.
