Heres a challenge!,
Write a command line program that hides any process's gui, but still keeps it going.. (ive seen this done, but only with gui programs :( )....
If someone does this, we can run alot of cool stuff on pubstros! :D |

Well, i dunno if that's the kind of program you're looking for, but here's a direct link to it : http://nettworks.net/hidew110.zip
and the description from the site :
Check out HideWindows! A neat little program which lets you show or hide any running window on your windows95/98/NT machine. You can hide or show windows using the system tray icon of HideWindows. Another feature is the ability to hide a window by commandline.
Download HideWindows 1.1 and use it for free!
There, no idea if it works on win2k...
but i don't care, i don't even know if that's the kind of program you want !! |

I'm mainly looking for hidden compression. (ZIP, RAR, ACE, TAR)
I havent found a command line prog that will compress without having some kind of visible window. Even with the "Silent" switches your still gonna have a DOS window open when the compression is going on.
The OS is Windows/NT |

For that kind of stuff, just use the iis user account, or start it using SITE EXEC when you have executable rights on the server. |
