Game: Final Fantasy X (PS2 - International version)
Storyline (No spoilers here, thanks)
Tidus, the main character, is a star blitzball player(A water-rugby sort of game) of the zanarkand abes, while a big match is on, a large mofo called Sin comes by and fux0rs up the city, Tidus is somehow transported 1000 years into the future where he'll join a team of Guardians to destroy sin.
The game has ALOT of twists, and nothing really comes expected, the story is excellent (plus the fact that fry from futurama speaks for Tidus is super fun
The graphics are quite awesome, specially for the high-level spells and such..
Plus, the game LASTS, playing the gime for the first time, and expecting to finish all the side quests and hidden things, getting all the ultimate weapons, ect.. is an estimated 70-80 hrs of gameplay... playing the game again will ofcourse get it finished faster, as you know all the things to do, but its a minimum of 25-35 hrs still... Longer than 99% of all games, atleast
Squaresoft has gone away from the usual "Get exp gain levels" Type of play, you now get ability points, and your characters get ability levels, which you use to move along the "Sphere Grid", where you use A load of spheres to "buy" abilities, stats, skills and magic. Thus, you can take a character, and build it the way you want, it can become a Black or White Mage, a Theif, a warrior, or just a weird mix of whatever abilities you want , the sphere grid system is kind of hard to explain, here's a pic of the sphere grid ( The US/JAP Version of it.. , the international version has two grids, you can choose at the start of the game which one you want to use, the intl one is more customizable, and recommended for more experienced players)

Conclusion : the best Final Fantasy i have played to date (Including FF6)
Pros: Storyline, Fun Level system, real nice battles and cutscenes, Excellent Graphics, and a bucketload of sidequests/hidden thingies
Cons: Not being able to skip some cutscenes (When youve seen them once..), A few stupid lines of bad voice acting ...
Score : 9/10 |

i have a PS2 and PS1 but i never got into FF games because they seem to be typical Japanese RpG games where you use spells to defeat dragons etc.
I might be wrong and they might be very good, I will have to find some of my friends who have FF games |
