Yeah, i wish they could have stayed longer...
Anyways, until now, everything has gone ok... except for a few netsplits and laggy moments.
Now we just need new people to talk with.
Oh and Ship, why don't you tell us what you think about it ?
I hope we'll see you soon in the chan...
(last time you came i was away) |

Just one question. Is there a efnet server that scrambles your ip like zirc/evo5 do, or should I use a bnc if I want to do such a thing? Reason is that my username of my isp is in that host (fuckup from @home) and it is possible to take over a user's account with that. |

TumTum,
No, Efnet does not mask hostnames/ip's i would advice you use a BNC. I hope this solves your query.
Regards,
Mr Tac.

err... even if your ip doesn't show in hostname, it's not very hard to do a /dns tumtum or ping your hostname... and how can you take over someones account with an ip address? sounds fubared to me |

Yep, it is, but it is true.
Look, here i dns'ed me:
Code: |
[23:53:14] VvV <DNS> Looking up Tum|muT
[23:53:14] VvV <DNS> Resolved: cp1*3**3-a.landg1.lb.home.nl to 217.120.29.14
|
(left some info out), and if I take the cp1*3**3-a part, its my ISP's username. If you would be using the same ISP as me, you could use that in your router settings and take over my IP when Im offline. |

Unless you have a static IP, does it really matter? IF somone does somthing bad and blames it on you. Your ISP will be able to easily figure out that it was not your computer using the IP... (Traceroute Logs) So um its not really a big deal... even if it was... doesnt that also leave everone else open to the same kind of "abuse"? *Evhul Hxr grin* |
